Changes & Whatnot

Wow, it's been a while. Not that I have any readers, so I'll just get right into it.

Weight - I've been struggling with my weight for a while. With all my starts and stops I finally admitted to myself that I needed help. After my mom and one of my best friends suggested it, I started weight watchers. My friend T is doing it too. I've been on it for 4 weeks and I've lost 7lbs so far. You can't tell me I didn't lose 20 though, because I feel awesome lol. I can see the difference in my stomach (I was getting a little gutty) and I've lost a few inches in my waist, bust, hips, arms, and thighs (compared to measurements I did back in May). I'm happy and feeling motivated which is a first, because like I've mentioned before, I have an issue with instant gratification. Three pounds in the first week was instant enough for me to stick with it. I've had my slips here and there but I don't beat myself up about it. So far, so good.

Hair - I decided to go natural. I haven't permed my hair since March. I didn't really it a lot of thought, but after my mom's severe hair breakage she decided to cut most of her hair. That kinda gave me the push I needed to leave the perms alone. I noticed a lot of breakage in my own hair, mostly at the crown so I was obviously not pleased. I can't tell if it's growing back but I think it is. I  can see some curls coming in (tighter coils in the front, loose curls in the back, medium coils in the crown) but so far no real definable "hair type". I don't plan on doing a big chop as of yet so I'm transitioning. I guess I'll do some hair posts in the next few days to talk more about it.

Love - Still engaged. Still living together. Still no wedding date (or even plans). Still pissed about it. Moving on.

Work - The tee shirt company is coming along. We filed for an LLC and I just finished the logo and a few designs. I hope to have some printed or at least available online before the summer is out, but we're shooting for an event in early August so we can set up a vendor table. I'll probably post about it here when I'm ready. If anyone happens to stumble across this here blog and has any insight on purchasing a domain name please let me know.

on becoming my own boss

My friend BT [who is engaged to one of my best friends, Sunshine] and I have decided to start a business together. I don't want to go into too much detail yet but I am excited about this. It allows me to be creative and hopefully we can get it off the ground and be able to sustain ourselves outside of and hopefully without our actual jobs. I designed the logo and it was received well by everyone I [and he] showed it to. We're moving along with this plan slowly but steadily and I hope we can pick up the pace sooner than later. I know the economy is crap, but I'm pretty sure it won't be getting better any time soon so why not start working on this project? What's life without risk and change and forward motion? It shouldn't require a large investment on either of our parts, we just have to do it right to make sure it's at least semi-lucrative. I'm really trying to make this happen. We have great things in mind.
